Refund & Return Policy

At ResearchChem.nl, we aim to handle returns and refund requests clearly and fairly. This policy explains how to report an order issue, arrange an eligible return, and receive a refund. Nothing in this policy limits your applicable statutory rights.

1. Consumer Returns

If you purchase as a consumer and your purchase qualifies for the statutory right of withdrawal, you may cancel without giving a reason within 14 calendar days, starting the day after you receive your goods.

Notify us of your decision using the contact details below. An unambiguous statement of cancellation is sufficient; prior approval is not required to exercise your statutory right.

After notifying us, return the goods within a further 14 calendar days. Contact us promptly for appropriate shipping instructions where the product requires special handling.

2. Product Condition and Exceptions

Handle products only as necessary to establish their nature, characteristics, and functioning. Keep original packaging, labels, seals, and accompanying documents wherever possible.

Where permitted by law, we may deduct a reduction in value caused by handling beyond what is necessary for inspection. We will explain any proposed deduction.

Certain purchases may be excluded from the statutory right of withdrawal, such as genuinely custom-made products or goods liable to deteriorate rapidly. We will identify any applicable exclusion before purchase.

A product being described as a research chemical does not, by itself, remove consumer cancellation rights. Opening packaging does not automatically exclude a return unless a specific legal exception applies.

3. Arranging a Return

Contact sale@researchchem.nl with your order number and the items you wish to return. If you are reporting a fault or delivery issue, include a description and photographs where safe and practical.

Pack eligible returns securely and retain proof of dispatch. Follow applicable carrier and transport requirements. Do not send leaking, damaged, or otherwise unsafe chemical containers through ordinary post; contact us for safe arrangements.

4. Return Shipping Costs

For a change-of-mind return, you pay the direct return shipping costs only where this was clearly disclosed before purchase.

If a product cannot normally be returned by post, the applicable return cost or a reasonable estimate will be provided before purchase.

For incorrect, defective, or damaged goods for which we are responsible, we will arrange or cover the necessary return shipping costs.

5. Refunds Following Withdrawal

For a valid consumer withdrawal, we will refund the amount due within 14 calendar days after receiving your cancellation notice.

We may withhold reimbursement until we receive the returned goods or evidence that you have sent them back, whichever occurs first, unless we have offered to collect them.

When you cancel an entire order, the refund includes the cost of our least expensive standard delivery option. Additional charges for an upgraded delivery service are not refundable. Original delivery charges are generally not refunded for a partial return.

Refunds are issued using the original payment method unless you expressly agree to another method, without refund fees. Your payment provider may require additional time to display the funds.

6. Incorrect, Damaged, or Defective Products

If you receive an incorrect, damaged, or defective product, contact us promptly with your order details. Retain the packaging and relevant labels where safe.

Do not use a product that appears compromised, contaminated, or incorrectly labelled.

We will investigate and provide an appropriate remedy under applicable law, which may include replacement, repair where appropriate, a price reduction, or a refund. These rights are separate from the change-of-mind return period.

7. Cancellation Before Dispatch

If you wish to cancel before dispatch, contact us as soon as possible. We will check whether fulfilment can be stopped.

If your order has already been dispatched, applicable withdrawal and return procedures will apply. Dispatch does not remove any statutory cancellation rights.

8. Business and Institutional Orders

Purchases made for business or professional purposes are subject to the terms agreed when ordering. The statutory consumer cooling-off period does not generally apply to these purchases.

For business change-of-mind returns, contact us to request an arrangement before sending goods back. Claims concerning incorrect, defective, or non-conforming goods remain subject to the contract and applicable law.

9. Missing Refunds

If a refund has been confirmed but has not appeared, check with your bank or payment provider. If the issue remains unresolved, contact us with your order number so we can trace the payment.
